Trip to Copenhagen

The story

Drawing on guest checks, bar napkins, coasters, and the back of envelopes is compulsory for anyone with a pen and the need to put something down. I think the special nature of a sketch  or note jotted on a circumstantial medium, is found in the memory of the place it was drawn and the company it shared. On a steamy Charleston afternoon lunch break I found myself before the local Knights of Columbus building without my sketchbook. What I did have was a guest check pad (during the week I was an architectural intern and by night I was a waitress). I had the choice to buy a new sketchbook or use what I had on hand. So I started drawing on the guest check pad…and havent stopped.
